IGS Monthly Medal Golf Competition
A monthly golf competition throughout 2008-2009 - monthly golf prizes for the winners, plus a playing invitation to the IGS Golf Masters - a winners tournament in 2009.
The IGS Monthly Medal Competition is a standard Medal Rules, "Stroke Play" competition, held once every month and open to all IGS members. The current leader board, with winners for each month, is shown below. These players will compete in the IGS Golf Masters Tournament in 2009.
Double winners - In the event that a Monthly Medal is won by a person who is already on the leader board, then the next qualified runner-up player that day will be invited to join the Golf Masters competition.
Nearest the Pin - Winner of nearest the pin at the monthly medal wins a bottle of champagne.

Some Rules :
Preferred Lies are not allowed - all shots played as they lie.
Every Shot counts : Every player must hole out on every hole (no "gimmes"), all shots must be played.
The winner every month will be the player with the lowest net score for the round - every shot is recorded to give a gross score, and a handicap is deducted to give a player's net score.
Ties : If there is a tie, then the winner will be decided by a "count-back" on the last nine holes to find the best player over that 9.
